I am a hardcore rap fan, but i was at a talent show and this boy was playing a johnny cash song with his guitar, and it sounded so beautiful. I was inspired at that moment to learn how to play guitar. So my birthday is coming up soon, and i was going to ask my parents to buy me a guitar. I’ve never played one before, so which type of guitar would be the best for a beginner to get?
I would start with a cheap accoustic guitar. If you want to play electric then still buy an accoustic. Its easier to learn on and if you transfer to electric then your technique will progress faster than people who started on electric

I was exactly the same as you and i bought a cheap acoustic guitar…it was good to get the basic feel of it but i did not practice heaps on it because it just wasnt exciting to play on.
all my frends who got electrics progressed much faster because it was such a cool instrument and very fun to play.
If you buy a cheap electric guitar starter pack (electric guitar, amp,leads) from around $270 Australian then you will be able to learn all your favourite sons, practice more, and progress fasrter

don’t get an acoustic. the strings are harder to play on. i would just get a cheap electric. more specificly a squier stratocaster or teleacaster
